An Interspiritual perspective is applied to the practice of ministry in all its manifestations, including the creation of rites and rituals to support individuals, families and communities to bring meaning and depth to life, facilitating liturgy and worship, spiritual leadership, and sacred activism. The Second year focuses on the heart of ministry: skillful, compassionate service. Applications of Interfaith/Interspiritual Ministry: Death & Dying, Chaplaincy, Spiritual Healing. Psychological Principles for Ministers: Conventional & Transpersonal Psychology. The Perennial Philosophy & The Interspiritual Approach. Here is a sample of coursework for first year: Students receive a solid foundation in Interspirituality from cutting-edge authors and spiritual activists of our time, understand the deeper threads of wisdom and glimpse the shared mystical ground that is humanity’s common spiritual heritage. Our emphasis on experiential learning encourages students to embody the essence that each religion brings to the universal truths at the heart of all traditions, as well as develop a clear understanding of the unique aspects of each path. The first year of the Program provides a strong foundation in the Interspiritual perspective of the world religions and faith traditions, contemporary wisdom and personal spiritual development. He lives in Chicago with his wife, Meredith and their two children, Ezra Joel and Elias Rowe.The Interfaith Seminary Program is a two-year part-time professional training program that leads to ordination as an Interfaith / Interspiritual Minister. Kerwin is passionate about preaching and teaching others to preach. He has an MDiv from Trinity Evangelical Seminary and is currently completing a PhD at Baylor University's Truett Seminary with a particular interest in Latino preaching.
RODRIGUEZ is an Assistant Professor of Pastoral Studies at Moody Bible Institute where he teaches homiletics, spiritual formation, and cultural dynamics for congregational ministry. A native of the Pacific Northwest, she presently lives in West Chicago with her husband Bob, four dogs, and a cat. Laurie's ministry centers on the communication of God's Word and equipping of the church through teaching, speaking, writing, and mentoring in both academic and non-academic settings. She has a ThM from Dallas Theological Seminary and a PhD in Biblical Theology-New Testament from Wheaton College.
LAURIE NORRIS is a Professor of Bible at Moody Theological Seminary in Chicago, having served for ten years on the faculty of Moody Bible Institute in the division of Applied Theology and Church Ministries. He and his wife Meloday have five adult married children and eight grandchildren. He is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary (1980) and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (2012). MICHAEL BOYLE is an interim pastor and previously served as a church planter, District Superintendent, and an Associate Professor of Pastoral Studies at Moody Bible Institute (2007-2018).
